Vote for Rhythms of Life International & help support the homeless in your community

Rhythms of Life International, a Hackney-based homeless charity, has been chosen to take part in Natwest’s CommunityForce competition. This exciting opportunity will help the charity to fund and raise awareness of its work with homeless people.

The competition offers grassroots charities across England the opportunity to compete for a share of a £6,000 grant. The winners are chosen by the public, who can vote for their favourite project by visiting Natwest’s CommunityForce website. The three organisations with the most public votes win a share of the prize money. Rhythms of Life is calling on all of its supporters to log in and vote for the charity.

Rhythms of Life’s founder Andrew Faris said: “This is a great way to tell people about our work feeding the homeless and to encourage more local people to volunteer with us. The £3,000 grant on offer to the best charity would help us provide more services for homeless people. The effects of the recession are starting to kick in and in the last year or two we have witnessed a sharp rise in the number of people on the streets.

“That is why we want to do more to help homeless people. Being homeless is about more than just about finding something to eat. People need a huge amount of help and support to get themselves off the streets, back into work and the community.”

Winning the Natwest CommunityForce competition will help Rhythms of Life to fund the following services alongside its current soup kitchens:

• Housing and benefits advice
• Basic skills training including IT literacy
• Advice for job seekers
• Support and treatment for alcoholics and drug addicts
